Today marks the day of Ganesh visarjan and there would be an atmosphere of chaos all over the country in this regard. Recently, in the same case, a coordination meeting was held by the Hyderabad City Police with different departments and agencies on arrangements for Ganesh immersion on Tuesday. The City Police officials discussed several steps and arrangements to be taken up for the smooth immersion of the Ganesh idols at different immersion points in the city. Leading officials from the power, irrigation, GHMC, HMWS&SB, fire services, health, road and buildings, disaster management and revenue departments participated in the meeting.

City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, Additional CP (L&O) DS Chauhan, Additional CP (Traffic) Anil Kumar and other officials participated in the meeting. The final immersion of the Ganesh idols will be held at various places across the city on Tuesday. Earlier, the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Committee had canceled the centralized procession this year in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. The City Police are deploying around 15,000 policemen for the smooth conduct of the Ganesha immersion on Tuesday.

City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, who visited and reviewed the arrangements at Tank Bund and Hussain Sagar said that so far around 30,000 idols were immersed in the lake. More than 1,400 more would be immersed by Tuesday night in the lake. The authorities have set up 21 cranes on Tank Bund and another two cranes at the Children’s Park for the immersion of idols. The Commissioner asked devotees who were coming for the immersion to take all necessary precautions to protect themselves.
