Hyderabad: The immersion of Ganpati Bappa concluded on Anant Chaturdashi yesterday with a grand celebration with the slogans of 'Jai Bolo Ganesh Maharaj Ki' and 'Ganpati Bappa Morya... Next year ko early'. The different dress code by each of the pandal organizers added color to the procession. Children, women and elders rejoiced in the procession to the tune of Sherry Band. The organizers of Ganesh pandal were seen distributing chocolates, nuts along with Pulihora. The procession of about 20 km from Balapur to Hussain Sagar started late and continued till late night due to late start.

Rain also played a role in further delaying the Shobha Yatra. The immersion of Khairatabad Ganesh was completed by about three o'clock. Mass immersion is conducted every year by Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti since 1980. Barring small idols in small auto trolleys, no big idols were seen in the procession route till 2.30 pm. Even after 6 o'clock in the evening, big idols were not seen on the tank dam. The road leading to MJ Market was packed with long queues of lorries carrying idols around 5 pm.

Police officers tried to clear the vehicles coming from the old city. Many charitable organizations organize Prasadam stalls at various places along the Shobha Yatra route. Several organizations like Agrawal Samaj, Raj Purohit Samaj, Nau Ratna Sangh, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maratha Navayuk Mandal, Kheteshwar Samaj and others organized the stalls.
