The benevolence of the southwest monsoon in the city has to lead the city to receive a surplus rainfall of 100.8 mm in the last two weeks. According to Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), against normal rainfall of 86.5 mm, Hyderabad has received 100.8 mm between August 1 and 14, while Rangareddy and Medchal-Malkajgiri recorded a rainfall of 101.7 mm and 98.5 mm respectively during the same period.

The Meteorological Department, Hyderabad reported that on Thursday alone, the city received a rainfall of 35.3 mm, after a heavy rainfall forecast over the State. Given the cloudy weather conditions throughout the day, maximum temperature has dropped to 23.8 degrees Celsius, 6 degrees Celsius below the normal.

During the last 24 hours, the highest rainfall of 45.5 mm was recorded at Asifnagar and across the State, a heavy rainfall of 160.9 mm lashed Venkatapuram in Mulugu district. On Friday, several parts of Warangal Urban, Warangal Rural, Jayashankar Bhupalpally and Mulugu recorded moderate to heavy rainfall.
