On Wednesday, the skywalk that makes life easier for pedestrians will soon be approved by the municipal administration and urban development minister KT Rama Rao near the busy Mehdipatnam Rythu Bazaar area.

The HMDA plans to build it using steel. HMDA calls for bids for construction work. The project is to be taken up at a cost of Rs 34.28 crore and plans to increase the premises by constructing redesigned bus shelters.

According to officials, the project is aimed at improving pedestrian movement at the busiest junctions and the busiest highways at Mehdipatnam Ritu Bazaar, including the high pedestrian corridor and a commercial building, including lifts. The place for the proposed skywalk is the PV Narasimha Rao Expressway with military land on one side and commercial and residential buildings on the other. The total travel length of the skywalk is about 380 meters, including retail operations above.
