Hyundai, the world's leading automobile giant, launched the hybrid car in 2009. At present, the company's lineup has more than half a dozen hybrid and electric cars. Now the company has gone a step further and added solar energy to the car. Hyundai has launched its Sonata hybrid car with a solar panel on the roof of the car.

According to media reports, the Sonata Hybrid with solar panels does not run solely with solar energy, but also the battery charge in the car with the help of a solar panel. According to Hyundai, the solar panel in the car can charge 30 to 60% of its battery in a day. If the solar panel charges the car 6 hours a day, it will provide an additional mileage of 1,300 km a year.

In its statement, the company says that the solar roof variant of the first-generation solar roof car, the Sonata Hybrid, is not a big game-changer. But most importantly, it will reduce the emission of the car. Hyundai has said that Solar Roof has opened a new path that will not require fossil fuel (petrol-diesel) to drive in the near days. The Hyundai Sonata hybrid car with the solar roof is currently being sold in Korea. Soon it will be launched in the North American market. In other countries, it will not be introduced. However, the company's second hybrid and electric cars are likely to see the solar roof in the coming years. Sonata is the company's first car to come with a hybrid solar panel roof.
