Vehicle manufacturer Hyundai's cars will become expensive from August. The company has announced that it will raise the price of its cars by Rs 9,200. Hyundai has taken this step in view of the cost escalation. The company says that making cars in line with the new safety norms have increased the cost. The new prices will come into effect from August 1. The two newly launched Hyundai-Venu and Electric SUV Kona have been kept away from the hike, meaning the prices of the two cars will not go up. The company has recently launched Kona Electric in the Indian market at a price of Rs 25.3 lakh. It is the country's first electric SUV. Hyundai had earlier launched its first sub-compact SUV Venue in May. It is priced at Rs 6.50 lakh. Maruti's popular subcompact SUV Vitara Brezza has been launched in the market. The three-engine SUV gets a good response.

In addition to Kona Electric and Venue, there are 9 more cars in Hyundai's lineup in the Indian market. These include Centro, Grand i10, Elite i20, i20 Active, Accent, Verna, Elantra, Creta, and Tucson. Centro is the company's lowest-priced car. It was launched at a starting price of Rs 3.90 lakh. The company has recently hiked its initial price by Rs 25,000, after which the Centro has been priced at Rs 4.15 lakh.
