New Delhi: South Korean automaker Hyundai is preparing to launch the electric version of its popular mid-size SUV Creta. For the first time, an e-SUV test mule has been spotted, albeit in camouflaged form.

The powertrain from the Kona Electric is most likely to be used by the automaker. Here are some predictions for EVs in light of the recent surge in electrification.

Hyundai, the leader in the performance electric vehicle market, has a strong lineup of EVs in its global lineup. The business now intends to add an electrified version of its mid-size SUV, the CRETA, to make it even more attractive.

Business estimates that the vehicle's popularity and wide road presence will be beneficial for the upcoming four-wheeler.

The upcoming Hyundai CRETA EV will retain the general looks of the ICE-powered sibling, while following the brand's "Sensuous Sportiness" design philosophy.

The tall and sculpted bonnet, gloss black grille, tri-beam LED headlights, blacked-out B pillars, roof rails, skid plates and designer alloy wheels will all be features of the SUV. Split-type LED taillights and a roof-mounted spoiler should be available at the rear.

The manufacturer has not yet released the technical specifications of the Hyundai CRETA EV. But we anticipate that the car will come equipped with a powerful electric motor and 39.2kWh battery pack from the Kona electric SUV.

Inside, we expect the Hyundai CRETA EV to retain its five-seater, tech-forward cabin from the ICE-powered model. An electric sunroof, a wireless charger, ambient lighting, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, a multifunction steering wheel, a fully digital instrument cluster and a 10.24-inch infotainment system should all be included. It should also get premium upholstery. Six airbags and ESC will ensure the safety of the passengers.

Hyundai is yet to finalize the pricing information of the CRETA EV as the vehicle is still in the prototype stage. When released, we expect the e-SUV to be priced significantly higher than its ICE-powered rival.
