Yesterday the online film certification system was launched by Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu. Under this system, the promos, short films, trailers of less than 10 minutes can be submitted by the makers.

Later, the applicants who will submit their work online will be notified about the status of their applications through a text message or email. This also helps to eradicate any cope of corruption.

Naidu said, "This is a big step towards making #CBFC paperless & transparent, enabling effective monitoring & real-time progress tracking for applicants."

He also said, "We want to revamp the CBFC based on the Shyam Benegal and Mudgal Committee recommendations. We have already started the consultation process. I am trying to understand the different elements of the recommendations."

"I will also be meeting people from the film industry and media before taking the final call. We want to revisit the system of CBFC and make improvement according to the reports given," said by the I&B minister.
