IAF Group Captain Arun Marwaha, on Thursday, was arrested by the Delhi Police, allegedly for leaking details confidential Indian Air Force document to the ISI, the Pakistani spy agency.

Marwaha violated the norms of the IAF Head Quarters and brought in mobile phone for the purpose of clicking pictures of the classified documents on the Indian Air Force’s combat exercise. He then sent them to ISI via Whatsapp. The arrest was confirmed by DCP Pramod Kushwah.  

Arun Marwaha was posted in the Directors para operation in Indian Air Force Headquarters at New Delhi. He is an instructor and has trained officers in para jumping with 3000+ jumps to his credit. Marwaha was watched after he was seen with a smartphone which led to his detention followed by enquiry and finally arrest.

ISI agents lured Marwaha through two fake facebook accounts identifying that of a model. He had chats of sexual nature and gave in to their demands of leaking information. Absence of any evidence of monetary exchange hints at he did it for the chats.

After the arrest and primary investigation, he confessed that he could access the secret documents at the IAF headquarters. Justice Prakash Sehrawat sent him to five day police remand.
