New Delhi: Eleven days after Pulwama terror attack, the Indian Air Force on Tuesday morning crossed the Line of Control and carried out aerial strikes at multiple targets. According to Sources, around 300 terrorists from JeM, LeT and Hijbul Mujahideen are believed to be killed in the airstrike.

Pakistani military confirmed that the IAF jets entered deep into Pakistan and reached Balakot, a town in Mansehra district in Pakistan's Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa before Pakistani Air Force tried to intercept them.

Amid calls to take revenge for the Pulwama attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had recently assured: “Is baar purahisab lenge (We will settle the books in full this time)."

The attack of Indian Air force came after the Pulwama terror attack in which at least 40 Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed in the worst attack on the security forces in Pulwama on February 14. The Pakistan-based JeM had claimed responsibility for the gruesome attack.

Notably, on September 29, 2016, the Indian Army had conducted surgical strikes on seven terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) as a response to an attack on its base in Uri on September 18, 2016.
