IAF's C-17 aircraft to bring mortal remains of Pulwama attack martyrs to National Capital

NEW DELHI: The Indian Air Force (IAF) C-17 Globemaster transport aircraft to take off from the Hindon Air Force base for Srinagar to bring back the mortal remains of 44 CRPF personnel who were killed in terroist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama.

As per report., IAF's C-17 transporter aircraft will take off from the Hindon Air Force base for Srinagar in a short while from now. The mortal remains of the martyrs will be brought to the Delhi from where they will be flown to their respective native places for their last rites.

While a majority of the 37 bodies have been identified, some of them have been mangled beyond recognition. A Home Ministry official said arrangements have been made to hand over the bodies to the families.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and many top political leaders will pay tribute to the martyrs after their mortal remains arrive in the national capital later today. PM Modi and iall three services chiefs will also observe a 2-minute silence and place a wreath as a mark of respect to the fallen CRPF toppers.

In one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir, a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district.
