Reimagined UPSC Triumphs: The UPSC Civil Service Examination, known for its formidable reputation, is considered one of India's most challenging tests. Many aspiring candidates with engineering backgrounds embark on the journey to crack the UPSC CSE exam. However, not all of them taste success in this pursuit.

But fear not, as we unveil the incredible story of an engineer turned civil servant who conquered the UPSC civil service exam on his maiden attempt. Meet IAS Mandar Patki, a rising star in the 2020 batch of Maharashtra Cadre IAS officers. Presently serving as Assistant Collector and Project Officer at the Integrated Tribal Development Project in Taloda, Nandurbar, Mandar's journey to success is nothing short of inspirational.

Previously, Mandar served as an Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for a five-month tenure from July 2022 to November 2022. Before that, he embarked on his civil service career as a Trainee Assistant Collector in Amravati.

In 2019, Mandar achieved a remarkable feat by securing All India Rank (AIR) 22 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. What sets his accomplishment apart is that he achieved this remarkable feat without the assistance of any coaching institute. Hailing from Maharashtra, Mandar took charge of his own preparation to conquer the nation's most prestigious examination, choosing Anthropology as his optional subject.

Mandar firmly believes that anyone can achieve success in the UPSC realm, regardless of their educational background. As he once expressed, in UPSC, it's all about strategy and hard work rather than one's academic history. According to him, one can rise from scratch and make their mark in this fiercely competitive arena.

Despite being an average student throughout his academic journey, Mandar holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (B.tech) from Vishwakarma Institute Of Technology, Pune. Before that, he completed a Polytechnic diploma from Government Polytechnic College, Pune. Following his graduation, he made a bold decision to dedicate a year to preparing for the UPSC exam. His perseverance and diligence paid off when he triumphantly cracked the UPSC CSE exam on his very first attempt in 2019.

Now, Mandar stands as a shining example of how determination and self-belief can turn dreams into reality. His incredible journey serves as a beacon of hope for countless aspirants who aspire to make their mark in the prestigious realm of civil services.

So, let Mandar's story inspire you to embark on your own UPSC journey, where hard work, passion, and an unwavering spirit can pave the path to success. Remember, even ordinary individuals can achieve extraordinary feats with the right mindset and dedication.
