The ICC World Cup Qualifiers, which kicks off in Zimbabwe on Sunday (March 4th), sees six Associate sides and, for the first time, four Full Members battling it out for the two qualifier's spots available at the 2019 World Cup in England.

Qualifier event, with the West Indies and Zimbabwe joining new Full Members Afghanistan and Ireland, together with their erstwhile fellow Associates the Netherlands, Scotland, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea, the UAE and Nepal for what may well turn out to be a more exciting tournament than the World Cup they're looking to qualify for.

Two berths at the 2019 World Cup to be held in England in June. For the West Indies and Zimbabwe, it's a last chance to claim what they have previously enjoyed by virtue of their Full Member status. For Afghanistan, Ireland and the Netherlands (who recently won the right to the 13th spot in the ICC's new planned ODI league) it's and a chance to show they belong with the big boys.

At the end of the Super Six stage, the top two teams on points contest the final, with both assured of qualification for the World Cup. In the event of teams ending up on equal points, the first tie- breaker will (rather unusually) be total wins ahead of net run rate - a curiosity which may well come into play with plenty of heavy weather expected throughout the tournament.
