The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the third World Test Championship (WTC) final will take place at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground from June 11 to 15, 2025. June 16 has been designated as a reserve day if necessary.

ICC CEO Geoff Allardice expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating, "The ICC World Test Championship Final has quickly become one of the most anticipated events in the cricketing calendar, and we are pleased to announce the dates for the 2025 edition."

This will be the first time Lord’s hosts the WTC final. The previous finals were held at Southampton in 2021 and The Oval in 2023. In those finals, India, which competed in both, was defeated by New Zealand in the first and by Australia in the second.

As of now, India, led by Rohit Sharma, is leading the standings ahead of the defending champions, Australia. India is set to play a five-match series against Australia later this year, which will be crucial for their chances of reaching the WTC Final.

Other teams still in the running for a spot in the final include New Zealand, England, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and Bangladesh. Pakistan, however, faced a significant blow when Bangladesh defeated them 2-0 in their recent home series.
