NSE BSE Reschedule Bakri Id Holiday: On Thursday, June 29, the Indian financial markets will observe a holiday in observance of Bakr Id (Id-ul-Zuha), as per the updated notice issued by Maharashtra's general administration on Monday, June 28. This change shifted the holiday from Wednesday, June 28, to the following day.

Consequently, the expiration date for the month's futures and options (F&O) derivative contracts will be on Wednesday, June 28, instead of the previously scheduled June 29. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) has communicated this update through multiple circulars on Tuesday.

The expiration of all existing contracts for Nifty and NiftyBank contracts will now take place on Wednesday, instead of Thursday, while the expiration of Nifty Midcap derivative contracts will remain on Wednesday as usual. The new series of contracts, the July series, will commence on Friday.

In addition to the equity markets, the currency markets will also be closed on Thursday and will operate on Wednesday (June 28). Similarly, commodity markets will remain closed on Thursday but will resume trading in the evening session starting from 5 pm onwards. For the commodity derivative segment as well, trading will be unavailable in the morning and available in the evening.

BSE has designated 15 holidays for the equity, equity derivatives, and SLB segments for the year 2023. The next stock market holiday is scheduled for August 15, 2023, in observance of Independence Day.
