In a significant move by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), individuals with Aadhaar cards older than 10 years now have an extended opportunity to update their information for free. Previously set at December 15, 2023, the deadline for availing of free updates has been pushed forward to June 14, 2024.
Why is this Important?
Failure to update your Aadhaar card after it has been 10 years since issuance will result in non-validity of the card. According to UIDAI regulations, biometric and address details on Aadhaar cards need to be updated every 10 years.
