Have you watched Amitabh Bachchan's movie "Khuda Gawah"? In this film, Sridevi played the lead role alongside Big B. Their pairing was not only appreciated within the film but was also well-received overall. However, did you know that before the shooting of this film, Amitabh Bachchan's mother, Teji Bachchan, had threatened Manoj Desai, the film's producer? Recently, Manoj shared how Amitabh Bachchan's mother warned him before the actor left for Afghanistan.
In one of his interviews, Manoj revealed, "If anything had happened to Amitabh Bachchan, it would have been over. If Sridevi had also been harmed, it would have been a disaster because the war was ongoing." Manoj recounted how Amitabh Bachchan's mother, Teji, had told him, "If something happens to my Munna and Jaya wears a white saree, you should commit suicide right there. Your wife will also wear a white saree." This was the threat that Teji Bachchan had given me.
Furthermore, Manoj said that he received threats from Sridevi's mother as well. She warned him, "If anything happens to Sridevi, don't come back. If you come back, I will kill you." Notably, in 2010, there was news that Amitabh Bachchan had requested the President of Afghanistan for shooting permission. He had said that he was an admirer of Hindi films and had urged the Government of India to make travel arrangements to the country. When we were discussing the script of Khuda Gawah, I suggested that we should be allowed to go to Afghanistan for the shoot.
