Kolkata: Mamata Banerjee's nephew and Trinamool Congress (TMC) National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi on Monday (September 6) in connection with the coal scam money laundering case. Before leaving for Delhi on Sunday (September 5), Abhishek told reporters at kolkata airport that he would "hang himself publicly" if he was found guilty. Abhishek has accused the BJP of taking political vendetta after losing the West Bengal assembly elections.

Abhishek said, "As I said in public meetings in November, I repeat that if a central agency proves my involvement in any illegal transaction of even 10 paise, there will be no need to investigate CBI or ED, I will hang myself publicly on the dais. "I am ready to face any kind of investigation," the TMC leader said. He (BJP leader) now wants revenge after losing the elections and failing to deal politically with TMC.

Banerjee said the BJP's sole aim is to bake its political bread using investigating agencies. On the other hand, the ED had also summoned Abhishek Banerjee's wife Ruzira to Delhi for questioning on September 1, but Ruzira refused to go to Delhi saying that the corona epidemic is at its peak. She had written to ED urging them to allow her to appear before the authorities in Kolkata itself.
