Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said BJP chief Amit Shah would be Union home minister if the NDA under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is re-elected. Addressing a public rally in the state, where the party is contesting both Lok Sabha seats and three of the four assembly seats in the polls, Kejriwal said it wasn’t an exaggeration that the current elections are a battle to save the country.

"He (Shah) has said that if they (BJP-led NDA) come back to power, they will remove every single infiltrator from the country except (those who are) Hindu, Buddhist or Sikh. Amit Shah feels every Christian, Muslim, Parsi, Jain who lives in the country is an infiltrator. This is a dangerous statement," Kejriwal said.

Urging people not to re-elect Narendra Modi as prime minister, he said, “I fold my hands and appeal to you to save the country. If the Modi-Amit Shah duo come back to power, if Modi becomes prime minister again, the country’s Constitution and secular structure will be destroyed.” The Delhi chief minister claimed that Goa’s economy will take a hit if the BJP president Shah actually becomes the home minister. The Delhi chief minister said Goa is fortunate that there hasn’t been any mob lynching. This, he said, would change if the BJP returned to power at the centre.
