Amravati: Everyone was shocked by the manner in which a woman doctor committed suicide in Maharashtra's Amravati. Director of SAI Health Care and multi-speciality Hospital Dr Pankaj Dewan's wife Dr Priyanka Diwan committed suicide by taking a poisonous injection.

In this incident, the police registered an FIR and sent the body of the woman doctor to Akola Medical College for postmortem. According to the police, Priyanka got married in August 2019. Due to not having children, she was under stress after which she took this terrible step. Although the family members of the female doctor said putting serious allegations about Dr Pankaj Dewan that she cannot commit suicide.

Police officials say that the lady doctor, who went to sleep in her bedroom on Tuesday night, did not wake up till late in the morning, so the family members started to fear. When Dr Pankaj Dewan and his family tried to wake her up, there was no response from inside. The door was then broken down, and Dr Priyanka's body was lying. Her body was blue. This was immediately reported to the police. Police reached the spot and sent the body to the hospital for postmortem. However, after the allegations made by the family members of the woman doctor, the postmortem will now be conducted at Akola Medical College under the special supervision of five doctors.
