Dumka: Another heartbreaking incident is coming to light from Dumka, Jharkhand, where once again the limits of cruelty have been crossed with the girl. A 19-year-old girl, Maruti Kumari, was burnt with petrol in Jaramundi's Bhalki village. The girl has been admitted to the Medical College Hospital in Dumka in critical condition. According to sources, earlier there was a love affair between the two. Now the two had broken up. The girl refused to marry.

The culprit, Rajesh Raut, has been arrested. He is from Maheshpur village in the Hansdiha police station area of Dumka. Rajesh Raut is married to another girl this year. Even after this, he was pressuring Maruti Kumari to get married. Maruti Kumari is a resident of Bhairavpur village in Jama. She had come to her maternal grandfather Kishan Rawat's house in Bharatpur Tola in Bhalki village. At around 1 am on Thursday, an attempt was made to burn Maruti alive by pouring petrol in her maternal grandfather's house. Maruti Kumari, who was seriously injured, has been admitted to Phoolo Jhano Medical College Hospital. She will be referred from this hospital. Godda MP Nishikant Dubey has announced financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh from the BJP for the better treatment of Maruti Kumari.

Both the victim and the SDPO said in their statements that Rajesh Raut had threatened Maruti two days ago that if she did not marry him, he would do the same thing as the Dumka girl. Last month, minor Ankita Singh was burnt alive by pouring petrol in her house. She died due to treatment in the hospital. In this case, the police arrested the criminals Shahrukh and Naeem Khan. BJP MP and former CM Babulal Marandi have questioned the law and order situation in the state. He tweeted and said, 'The case of burning a girl with petrol in Dumka is not yet extinguished that in Bhalki village of Jarmundi police station a person named Rajesh Raut tried to kill a 19-year-old girl by burning her with petrol. What could be worse than the state of law and order in Jharkhand?'
