New Delhi: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat has made a big statement on the issue of terrorism. He explained how local Kashmiris now inform the army about the terrorists and only then do the security forces succeed in destroying the terrorists. He said that now it is the locals who talk about lynching terrorists which is a very good sign.
Bipin Rawat said that till now it used to happen that a large number of local people knew where terrorists operated from. But, just for fear of a bullet, they did not give information. But now they are moving ahead with the idea that either we will kill them (terrorists) or make arrangements to kill them. CDS further said that it is good that the people are afraid that they will kill us (the common people) before that, we (army) will kill them (terrorists). He questioned how killing terrorists could be a violation of human rights. He said, "If a terrorist is in your area, why don't you kill him?"
General Bipin Rawat says terrorists target one, others get scared. But, if anyone feels threatened, come to the Army. Some people have left their base in fear, which has been taken by the terrorists. But the Army does not want that. If somebody feels that they don't have a safe place, come to us. This problem is temporary.
