New Delhi: Important news for people traveling in Delhi Metro. Blue Line Metro is scheduled to be affected due to repair work on Sunday. Due to which some people may face trouble. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, by tweeting from its official Twitter handle, has reported that on 21 February 2021 to carry out the planned track maintenance work between Dwarka and Janakpuri West, the train services will not be available on the same section from the beginning of revenue hours to 9:30 am.

A part of the ridge (forest area) may also come under its ambit for the construction of a section of the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor as part of the expansion of the fourth step of the Delhi Metro. It has been revealed in the reply on RTI. Answer has been sought in this regard by filing an application under the Right to Information Act (RTI).

Approval requests and correspondence between the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and the city's forest department suggest that the DMRC has issued a proposal to the Ridge Management Board to use the forest area for the construction of the Aerocity-Tughlakabad corridor in 2019. According to the document, 5.55 km of the proposed corridor falls in the ridge area. The document stated that out of 50,875 square meters of forest land, 8,005 square meters and 42,870 square meters of area were requested to be permanently and temporarily allotted respectively.

After which the DMRC sent a letter to the Ministry of Forests in March 2020 revealing that the DMRC has made some changes in the initial proposal. The letter stated, the Aerocity-Tughlakabad Corridor (formerly stated three locations) passes through the ridge area at 4 places. In this, 82,426 square meters of land will be required for the construction of stations on Mahipalpur, Kishangarh, IGNOU and Maa Anandamayi Marg. Out of 82,426 square meters for entry-exit, allied buildings, shafts, etc., only 14,324 square meters of area will be required on a permanent basis and 68,102 square meters of land will be required on temporary basis for construction of the project.
