There is talk about social distancing all over the world today, but you also need to talk and be serious about social media. If you use social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp then this news is very important for you. For social media users, the government has told six things which are very important for you to know. The cyber cell of the Home Ministry has warned people about the fraud happening on social media.

1. The first thing is not to share any kind of personal information on social media. Such as mobile number, Aadhaar number, home address etc. Sharing family photos on social media platforms should also be avoided. This information shared by you can be used to harass you.

2. If you share a photo or video on social media, keep its setting private or limited. On social media, keep photos, videos private not public. For this, go to Privacy Settings and change the settings.

3. Before accepting any friend request, take full information about it. Check his/her profile and look at the timeline. If you do not know the person, do not accept the friend request.

4. Believing in any online friendship can put you in big trouble because real friendship and virtual friendship make a difference. If someone asks you for money through social media, do not send money at any cost. If you are asked for money from the ID of an identified friend or family member, then call that friend or member first. Talk to him/her do not transfer money directly.

5. Cybercriminals are more active than you on social media. They are waiting for you to make mistakes. If you get a friend request from a friend who is already on your list and you know it, then be cautious, because the cybercriminal may have created another profile.

6. If you become a victim of cybercrime for any reason, do not panic. Talk to family members or close friends. Report to the police if there is a problem. You can also complain by visiting the National Cybercrime website.
