The summer internship recruitment drive for its two-year full-time PGP programmes at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Kozhikode, resulted in a placement rate of 100%. The average stipend saw a 25% increase from the previous year. The mean and median stipend for this year is Rs 2.5 lakhs.
122 recruiters participated in this season's internship programme, offering 541 students positions with the highest stipend estimated to be Rs 6.47 lakhs. 47% of the candidates in this year's batch who showed up for the recruitment drive were women, and 45% were non-engineers. The candidates had, on average, 27 months of varied and rich pre-MBA work experience when they applied.
This year, 18% of offers were made in the financial sector, and the average stipend increased by 27%. Several significant financial institutions, including Barclays, CitiBank, Credit Suisse, CRISIL, HSBC Securities, ICICI Bank, IDFC First Bank, Nomura, SBI Capital Markets, Standard Chartered, TresVista, and Yes Bank, offered internships to students.
Additionally, 24% of offers were made in the sales and marketing sectors, and the average stipend increased by 39%, according to recruiters like Asian Paints, Astrazeneca, Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Consumer Care, BP Castrol, Coca-Cola, Cipla, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, HUL, ITC, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, PepsiCo, and others.
A little over 26% of the offers this season were distributed by the consulting cluster, with the information technology and analytics cluster contributing 13% of the total offers.
