Lucknow: I IT Kanpur has developed a special device in collaboration with MIT Institute of America. This device will work to clean dirty water. With the help of this, one litre of water can be cleaned at a cost of just two rupees. IIT Kanpur has also got a patent with the MIT Institute of USA for this device.
The problem of contaminated water is a major problem in most areas. For this, IIT Kanpur has developed a new device, which can not only clean the contaminated water but also monitor the quality of water. For this, IIT Kanpur has also been given its patent jointly with the MIT Institute of USA. The most important thing about this device called 'A vessel and a method for purifying water and monitoring the quality of water is that it is very cheap.
Dr Indra Shekhar Sen, Associate Professor, Department of Earth Sciences, IIT Kanpur, former IIT student and Shri Harsha of Kritsanam Technology have developed it. MIT's Emily Barrett Hanhoser, Indian engineer Rohit N. Karnik, John Hart, Michael Bono and Chintan Vaishnav have also helped develop the device.
