New Delhi: On corona cases, Indian Medical Association (IMA) President Dr John Rose Austin Jayalal said it is not right to celebrate any festival as it can be fatal. At the same time, he said IMA urges the government to reconsider its decision on any kind of mass functions. IMA reported that 776 doctors have died so far in the second wave of corona virus infection in the country.

The total number of positive cases in the country has gone up to 3,08,74,376 after 37,154 new corona cases were received during the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths has increased to 4,08,764 in the last 24 hours after 724 new deaths. In addition, the total discharge number has gone up to 3,00,14,713 after 39,649 new discharges. At present, the total number of active corona cases in the country is 4,50,899.
The Health Ministry has reported that the recovery rate has increased to 97.22 per cent. Active cases of corona virus are 1.46 per cent of the total cases and the daily positivity rate is 2.59 per cent. The country has received 12,35,287 corona virus vaccines in the last 24 hours, taking the total vaccination figure to 37,73,52,501.
