Kochi: Kerala's health department in a statement to the media said, 3,361 new corona-infected cases have been reported in 30,903 corona tests conducted in Kerala on Monday. In the last 24 hours in the state, 5,606 people have recovered from the corona. According to government data, the test positivity rate of coronavirus infection in the state is 10.88%, much higher than the national average rate of 1.9 percent.
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has warned that the increase in the number of infected cases of corona may cause inconvenience to ICU and ventilator in hospitals. IMA has asked for excessive precautions and increase the number of RTPCR tests amid increasing cases of coronavirus. India has reported the highest number of coronavirus cases in Kerala. At least 11 districts including the state capital Thiruvananthapuram are among the top 20 districts in which coronavirus cases are continuously increasing daily.
The number of deaths in the state with 17 deaths on Monday has reached 3,624. In new cases, 2969 people have been exposed to the infected person, while 276 people have not been able to find out the causes of infection. Out of these, 73 came from outside in the state. Altogether, 8, 93639 coronavirus cases have been registered in Kerala so far, out of which 8, 19156 people have been recovered from the disease, while 70,624 people are in treatment.
