New Delhi: The deadly coronavirus in the country is setting a new record every day. The rapid situation coming in cases in the second wave has become terrible. The immunization drive is also continuing in the country, even after that, the situation is deteriorating instead of improving. Now, amid the increasing number of cases, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written a letter to PM Narendra Modi.
In a letter to PM Modi, the IMA has appealed that people above the age of 18 years should now be included in vaccination to promote vaccination campaigns in the country so that coronavirus can be curbed. More than 4.3 million people have been vaccinated in the country in the last 24 hours, the highest in terms of doses given in a day so far. According to the ministry's data up to 7 a.m., a total of 43,00,966 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours, out of which 39,00,505 successors were given the first dose of the vaccine while 4,00,461 successors were given the second dose of the vaccine.
Out of the total vaccines administered so far, 60 percent of the vaccines have been administered in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, and Kerala. The data shows that Maharashtra has the highest number of 81,27,248 doses out of the total 8,31,10,926 vaccines administered in the country. This has been followed by 76,89,507 people in Gujarat, 72,99,305 in Rajasthan, 71,98,372 in Uttar Pradesh and 65,41,370 in West Bengal.
