New Delhi: The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Uttarakhand has challenged Baba Ramdev, who founded Patanjali Ayurveda, to an open debate. IMA issued a statement questioning Ramdev as to which allopathic hospitals have given Patanjali medicines for treatment. Not only that, the organization has publicly challenged the debate with the panel discussion.

Two days ago, IMA had issued a defamation notice to Baba Ramdev for making derogatory remarks on allopathy and allopathic doctors asking him to apologise within a fortnight or be prepared to pay a compensation of Rs 1000 crore. IMA Uttarakhand had said that Ramdev's remarks were detrimental to the reputation and image of about 2000 doctors associated with allopathy and it.

The notice asked Ramedav to make a video clip rejecting all his false and defamatory allegations and broadcast it on all social media platforms on which he uploaded video clips of his allegations. The notice also asked Ramdev to remove the 'misleading' advertisement related to his firm's product 'Coronal Kit' promoted as an effective drug for corona virus. According to the notice, in case of non-such, an FIR and a criminal case will be registered against the Yoga guru by the IMA.
