New Delhi: After being infected by the Coronavirus, doctors, hurt by reports of not getting proper beds and treatment, wrote a letter to the Indian Medical Association (IMA) on Saturday to apprise PM Narendra Modi of the matter on the issue. The IMA said such incidents would have a negative impact on the health care community, which is on the frontline in the war against Corona.

The letter reads, "There have been many shocking reports about doctors and their families not getting beds for hospitalization and lack of medicines. This letter has come down to the declining morale of our health care community and sent to draw your attention to the wrong impact. " IMA general secretary R.V. Ashokan said, "We need the attention and grace of the PM due to increasing concerns about the safety of doctors during this corona epidemic. Due to corona, a large number of doctors are getting infected and losing their lives."

Along with this, the IMA also sought to increase the state sponsored medical and life insurance facilities for doctors in all areas. According to the IMA, 40 percent of the doctors who lost their lives due to the epidemic were general practitioners who worked in private sectors or independently. It said that "it is appropriate to mention that Corona does not differentiate between the government and the private sector."
