New Delhi: Severe heat wave continues to lash north and central India. There is also a sultry heat in western India and due to the 'heat wave' prevailing in the capital Delhi and its surrounding areas, the heat wave has increased further and at the moment there is no possibility of relief from it. On Saturday, the temperature was recorded at 47 degrees Celsius at several places in Delhi. Haryana, Punjab, UP, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and West Bengal are also reeling under severe heatwave conditions. There is no respite from the heat in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Gujarat, and people are waiting for rain. Recently, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that rainfall activity will increase in the southern peninsula from June 7. From June 7th 

IMD has issued an alert for heavy rain in northeast India and isolated parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next five days. The Indian Meteorological Department has also warned that heat wave conditions will continue in different parts of north, west and central India during the next 2-3 days. If the MET department's forecast is to be believed, heavy rain is likely to occur in Assam, Meghalaya and sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next five days. With this, Arunachal Pradesh may receive heavy rainfall from June 7 to 9. Thunderstorm accompanied by rain is expected in Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep. Apart from this, isolated rain is also likely to occur in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

According to IMD, heavy rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu on June 6 and 7 on June 7, 8 and 9 in Kerala, Mahe and on June 8 over north interior Karnataka. Rajasthan, South Punjab, South Haryana-Delhi, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana are on alert on June 6. According to the forecast of the Indian Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is likely to increase by about 2 degrees Celsius in most parts of eastern India including south Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and interior Odisha from June 6 to 7 and there will be no significant change thereafter.

If we talk about the rain, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon will be active around June 15 in central India and 20 in north India. This means there is no hope of relief from the heat for the next 10 days.
