Weather Update: Rajasthan and MP to receive heavy rain today, IMD issues red alert

New Delhi: Due to the monsoon, many states in the country are reeling under heavy rains and floods. Waterlogging in low-lying areas has created flood-like conditions in some parts of Rajasthan following heavy rains. After which the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has now issued a red alert for Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, predicting heavy rainfall today i.e. Monday.

According to the Met department, rain is expected in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana today. IMD has predicted light to moderate intensity rain accompanied by thundershowers in Modinagar, Ghaziabad, Garhmukteshwar, Amroha, Hapur, Siana, Mahwa, Rajgarh, Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram, Rewari, Jind, Greater Noida, Noida, Dadri, Meerut and adjoining parts in the next few hours. Meanwhile, the weather is likely to be pleasant in the country's capital Delhi today (Monday) amid cloudy movement. According to IMD, Delhi will be partly cloudy, while light to moderate rain is expected at some places.

According to the Met department, the minimum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 25 degrees Celsius on August 02 while the maximum temperature is estimated at 29 degrees Celsius. According to weather forecasting agency Skymet, there remains a deep low-pressure area over southeastern Uttar Pradesh. The trough line of monsoon is heading towards north West Bengal via Ganganagar in Rajasthan, south Haryana. As a result, monsoon activities are also intensifying from north India to the southern states.
