ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan PM Imran Khan has said that Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif's brother and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif fears that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is more popular than the ruling coalition. Imran has also alleged that hence the government was trying to delay the elections. He said that the only solution to the current political and economic crisis of Pakistan is immediate and transparent elections.

Imran Khan while talking to the media said that Pakistan's Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Raja Sultan was also accused of tampering with the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in support of the Sharif government. Accusing the Election Commission of being biased, Imran said, 'We had introduced EVMs to conduct transparent elections in the country, but CEC Sikandar Raja spoiled it with the support of PML-N.'

Imran Khan also claimed that his party had all the evidence that Sharif's ally Pakistan Peoples Party was openly involved in the scam. He told local media that, "The Sindh Election Commissioner is on the provincial government's payroll and we have already approached the Judicial Council against him." He has said that 'It is unfortunate that to date transparent elections have not been held in Pakistan.'
