New Delhi: tea exports from India rose by 11.5 per cent to 179.3 lakh kgs in April this year over the same month last year. In April last year, India exported 160.8 lakh kilograms of tea. In terms of prices, the export of tea in April this year has increased by 30 per cent over the same month last year.

As per the information received from the sources, India exported tea worth Rs 401.32 crore in April this year as compared to the country's tea export value of Rs 308.76 crore in the same month last year. As per the preliminary data, the price of tea per kilo was Rs 223.83 while the tea price was Rs 192.01 last year. Thus, the price per kilo has increased by 16.57 per cent.

 

So far tea has been exported

With this, India exported 8.5 lakh kilograms of tea to Pakistan in April, compared to 8.3 lakh kilograms of tea exported to Pakistan in the same month last year. Exported 6.4 lakh kilograms of tea to China in April this year while 7.3 lakh kgs in the same month last year. In the Alochya month this year to Iran, India exported 49.2 lakh kilograms of tea while in April last year, only 16.8 kilograms of tea was exported to Iran.
