New Delhi: The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said that over 85 crore doses of the Sputnik V vaccine will be produced in India every year. India has approved limited emergency use of Sputnik V for the prevention of coronavirus infection. The Controller General of India (DCGI) has approved this vaccine for emergency use.
This vaccine has completed clinical trials in Russia and has been positive in Phase III trials in India. In India, this test has been done in collaboration with Dr. Reddy's. RDIF said in a statement that the use of the vaccine has been approved in almost three populous countries and that India is the 60th country to approve Sputnik V. The statement said that in terms of population, India is the largest country to adopt this vaccine and it is also a leader in the production of Sputnik V.
DCGI has approved the limited emergency use of Sputnik V with some conditions. Please tell that Sputnik V is the third vaccine used against the coronavirus in India. Earlier in January, DCGI approved the emergency use of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Vaccine Covishield manufactured by the Serum Institute of India in Pune and the Covicin made by Bharat Biotech.
