Patna: A youth has lost his life while 2 others have been badly injured when a truck hit him in Lakhisarai district of Bihar. Both the injured have been referred to Patna for better treatment. The incident took place near Chandanpura in Suryagarha police station area. The truck was blown up on the spot by angry people after the incident. Police have seized the body and sent it for postmortem. The incident is said to have taken place around 12 pm on Saturday.

According to the information, Lakhisarai went to Saidpura procession of Suryagarh from Kavaiya police station area. After reaching the village of Baaraat, 3 young men from there started riding on bikes on NH 80 at night. Meanwhile, the truck coming from Lakhisarai crushed the bike-ridden youth. In the incident, a youth got stuck in the next wheel of the truck along with the bike and he dragged along the track to the far end. After the incident, the truck driver escaped after stopping the truck near Alinagar High School. After the information of the incident, several processions reached the spot and set the truck on fire. It is being said that the truck was loaded with coal, due to which the fiery flames burned the truck completely. 

Police who rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident called the fire brigade and rushed to douse the fire. The body of the deceased has been taken into custody and sent to Lakhisarai Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased has been identified as Sujit Kumar, the 26-year-old son of Badi Kavaiya resident Sulo Yadav. The two persons who have been referred to Patna are yet to be identified. Suryagarha police have bid to take further action in this regard after investigation.
