There were around 7,000 people who participated in the annual competition to find new artwork for visitor handbooks and cards. And the people who won the prize are George Evans and Ian Mayou, who won with shots of Snowdonia and Cornwall. In the list, it includes outstanding and stunning sunsets, stormy coastlines, quiet reflections and unusual sculptures.
The competition was organized to find new photography for the organisation’s 2018 handbook and its five million membership cards. The handbook is published annually and sent to all of the National Trust’s members. It's useful for planning trips and days out to over 500 houses and gardens and more than 250,000 hectares of coast and countryside looked after by the organisation.
-George Evans' shot of a lone tree on the shores of Llyn Dinas, Craflwyn and Beddgelert, Snowdonia, will be on the National Trust's handbook in 2018.
-This poppy field in West Pentire, Cornwall, will be on the charity's annual membership cards next year. It was shot by Ian Mayou.
-Jules Hammond shot St Cuthbert's Cave on the Northumberland coast and was the runner-up in the handbook category.
-Dawn at Cotehele, Cornwall, scored Sue Rowlands the runner-up prize for the membership cards.
-Sea-ing is believing: A stunning image of St Michael's Mount was also shortlisted.
-An image of this cute pair in Charlecote Park near Warwick was submitted by Lottie Allnatt. There were more than 7,000 entries into the competition.
