Bucharest: Social media personality who is divisive According to prosecutors in Romania, Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan have been accused of rape, human trafficking, and organising a gang to use women as slaves.
The brothers, who share citizenship with the United States and the United Kingdom, as well as two Romanian women, are the targets of the charges, according to Romania's anti-organized crime agency, DIICOT.
The agency claimed in a statement that the four defendants established a criminal organisation in 2021 "in order to commit the crime of human trafficking" in Romania in addition to the US and UK. It was claimed that seven female victims were deceived into travelling to Romania, where the gang physically assaulted and sexually exploited them.

Late in December, in Bucharest, the country's capital, the Tate brothers and the two suspects from Romania were taken into custody. On March 31, the brothers' appeal to be placed under house arrest instead of police custody was successful.
Professional kickboxer Tate, 36, has millions of Twitter followers. He moved to Romania in 2017, but he had previously been blocked from using a number of social media sites due to his expression of misogynistic opinions and hate speech.
He has asserted time and time again that Romanian prosecutors lack evidence and that their case is a political plot to silence him.

According to the statement from the agency, prosecutors have ordered the confiscation of the Tate brothers' assets, including 15 high-end cars, pricey watches, and about $3 million in cryptocurrency.
According to Mateea Petrescu, a spokesperson for Tate, the brothers are ready to "demonstrate their innocence and vindicate their reputation."
"Tate's legal team are ready to cooperate fully with the appropriate authorities, presenting all necessary evidence to clear the brothers and disprove any misunderstandings or unfounded allegations," Petrescu said.
