New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi, while speaking to the participants at the grand finale of Smart India Hackathon 2023 on Tuesday, said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a dynamic issue and the public needs to be alert on new technology. He has also said that technology has become an important part of life in an unprecedented manner and India's goal should be not to import it or depend on others for it.

He has said that 'India has the largest talent pool in the world and the world is confident that India will provide low-cost, quality, sustainable and comprehensive solutions to tackle global challenges.' While interacting with the students at the grand finale of 'Smart India Hackathon', he said, 'Technology has become an important part of our lives in an unprecedented manner, our aim should be that India does not need to import any technology. Be it or not have to depend on others for this.

What did PM Modi say on the deep fake issue?: Addressing the issue of deep fakes, Modi has said, “This (Artificial Intelligence) is a very dynamic issue. If we bring a solution, mischievous people may find another way. We have to be very cautious on any new technology. If it is used within the rules then it can be very useful, but if it is used wrongly then it can cause a lot of problems. Deep fake videos look absolutely real. Therefore, we need to be more cautious before believing any photo or video. India is working on creating a global framework for AI.”

Participating in this program being held in Ahmedabad through video conferencing, PM Modi talked on many issues ranging from space technology, economy to the transformational phase of Indian Railways. He has said about this that, "Indian Railways is going through its transformational phase. The Central Government is spending thousands of crores of rupees on this and our focus is also on logistics. Your innovation is going to be very helpful. I was glad to see students from Bangladesh in your team. We have started 'Study in India' program for students coming to India from foreign countries for higher studies.
