The Oslo Sports Cup, the world's first-of-its-kind chess e-sports tournament, has now reached its last stage. India's R Pragganandha, who is leading the sixth round with 12 points, has suffered a defeat to World Cup winner Yan Duda of Poland, while Praggandha, who won most of his matches unilaterally, has suffered a one-sided 2.5-0.5 defeat to Yan Duda.

World champion Magnus Carlsen won this round, beating the previous round's defeat and not only scored 12 points by defeating Canada's Eric Hensen 2.5-0.5, but also moved Praggandha to the second spot on the basis of a better tiebreak and has himself occupied the top.

Although both the titles are still contenders in the last round due to the same points, Praggandha had to play against Anish Giri of the Netherlands in the 7th round while Carlsen had to play with Shakariar Mamedyarov of Azerbaijan in the 7th round. In the 7th round, Vietnam's Le Kuyang Lim defeated Anish Giri 2.5-0.5 while Mamedyarov defeated Van Forrest of the Netherlands 3.5-2.5.
