Inappropriate Behavior Allegation on SpiceJet Flight: Prompt Intervention and Seat Relocation

New Delhi: On January 31, a SpiceJet flight (SG 592) traveling from Kolkata to Bagdogra witnessed an incident involving a female passenger who reported inappropriate behavior by her co-passenger. The airline's spokesperson revealed that upon receiving the complaint, the cabin crew swiftly intervened and took action by relocating the seat of the male passenger.

Despite the intervention, the accused co-passenger denied any wrongdoing. Following the flight's arrival at Bagdogra airport, both passengers were assisted by SpiceJet security staff and escorted to CISF officials in the arrival area.

The situation took a turn when the female passenger, who initially demanded action against the co-passenger, chose not to file a written complaint. The accused co-passenger, in the presence of CISF staff, tendered an apology, which led to the female passenger leaving the airport without submitting any formal complaint. This decision hindered further investigation by SpiceJet into the reported incident.

The airline's spokesperson emphasized that throughout the entire episode, the cabin crew actively supported the female passenger, ensuring her comfort and safety during the flight. The incident highlights the challenges airlines face in addressing and resolving in-flight behavioral issues, especially when passengers opt not to pursue formal complaints after the occurrence.
