Kolkata: The Income Tax Department has detected undisclosed income of Rs 365 crore during a raid on Kolkata-based real estate and stockbroking group. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has given information about this on Friday. The raids of the Income Tax Department were based on the Department's database, analysis of financial accounts of these companies and market intelligence.
The raids on the companies took place on January 5. In the release issued by CBTD, it has been said, "So far, the total revenue of Rs 365 crores has been known to be hidden. The companies have so far accepted the undisclosed income of Rs 111 crore." During this period, the raiding team of Income Tax Department officials has also recovered unaccounted cash of Rs 3.02 crore and jewelery worth Rs 72 lakh.
The release said that the sale of houses was also revealed without booking revenue. During the investigation, the people of the company group have been using mask companies for their own unaccounted amount here and there.
