The Income Tax Department conducted raids against JRG Group concluded on Friday and they detected over Rs 182 cr of unaccounted transactions, said officials.
The search action started simultaneously at 13 locations of the associates of the Group in the city and two locations in New Delhi on Tuesday. Over 70 officers and staff of the department were involved in the operation with help from local police.
Officials said that no income tax had been paid for the Rs 182 cr unaccounted transaction. Besides, gold and gold jewellery worth Rs 5 cr was also seized. The officials found 14 lockers in various banks, out of which two yet to be opened, due to technical reasons. Numerous documents and a large number of bank accounts have also been traced.
