BGT2023, 1st Test: Jadeja did ball tampering? Viral video of Nagpur test sparks controversy

New Delhi: The first match of the four-match Test series between India and Australia is being played in Nagpur, on the first day of which controversy has arisen. In fact, the Australian media has accused India's star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja of ball tampering. Australian media outlet Fox Cricket has shared a video clip related to Jadeja on its social media handle.

Fox Cricket wrote in the caption of this video, 'Interesting. A debate has erupted after a vision of a questionable moment was spotted during the first innings of the first Test between Australia and India.' According to ICC rules, there is a strict ban on putting anything on the ball from the bowler or fielders, and doing so is considered ball tampering.

However, in the video, Jadeja is not seen doing anything like ball tampering. Looking at the footage it seems that Jadeja had some problem in his fingers, due to which he applied ointment to his fingers for relief. If Jadeja had to do ball tampering, he would have applied the cream on the ball, but the Australian media has tried to politicize the matter unnecessarily.

Fox Cricket is trying to tarnish the image of Indian cricket through this visual from the Nagpur Test match. At first, they termed the Nagpur wicket as humiliating. Fox Cricket also questioned the decision of DRS against Usman Khawaja. After this, they also unsuccessfully tried to implicate Ravindra Jadeja in the ball tampering controversy. Let me tell you that, Jadeja had done the work of breaking the back of the Kangaroo team by taking 5 wickets, so due to this, there is bound to be a commotion in the Australian media.
