Ranchi: The third match of three Tests between India and South Africa is being played in Ranchi. After winning the toss and batting first, the Indian team had a poor start and lost their three crucial wickets in the first session. Due to the constantly falling wicket, Rohit changed his aggressive style and started playing according to the state of the game and settled on the pitch. After lunch, Rohit returned to the ground with his nonchalant style and hit the first half-century and then played fast, and made his third hundred in this series. Rohit Sharma has become the batsman to hit the most sixes in a Test series with a century.

He has so far scored 16 sixes in the series being played against South Africa. This is Rohit's sixth Test century and his third century as an opener. With this century, Rohit became the second Indian opener to score 100 or more runs in a series. Earlier, veteran Sunil Gavaskar did this feat. He scored a century or more in three different series three times. Rohit has beaten everyone in the matter of hitting sixes in the Test series.

Before Rohit, the record of hitting the most sixes in a Test series was in the name of West Indies batsman Shimron Hetmyer. Who hit 15 sixes in the series against Bangladesh. The Indian player who hit the most sixes in a Test series before Rohit was Harbhajan Singh, who hit 14 sixes in the 2010–11 series against New Zealand. Team India has scored 205 runs for three wickets till tea. Rohit is unbeaten on 108 and Rahane 74 runs. The 166-run partnership between the two has been done.
