Paris Olympics Updates: On the fifth day of the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian athletes delivered outstanding performances across various events. Lakshya Sen produced a masterclass in managing court conditions, securing a monumental win against world No. 4 Jonatan Christie of Indonesia. This victory not only allowed Lakshya to win his group but also ensured his qualification for the round of 16 in badminton.

In Table Tennis, Sreeja Akula achieved a significant milestone by reaching the round of 16, making her the second Indian paddler to reach this stage at the Olympic Games. She followed in the footsteps of Manika Batra, who accomplished a similar feat just a day earlier.

In shooting, Swapnil Kusale brought good news for India by advancing to the final of the men's 50m Rifle 3 Positions event, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday.

The action doesn't stop there for India. Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Lovlina Borgohain will compete in the women's 75kg boxing category, facing Norway's Sunniva Hofstad in her opening bout. Additionally, Nishant Dev will also be seen in boxing action later today. In archery, India's hopes rest on Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai, who are both set to compete.

Her preparation included three practice sessions spanning 12 hours a day, playing against 20 opponents with diverse playing styles. This rigorous training paid off as she continues to make India proud on the Olympic stage.
