India beat Japan in Junior Asia Cup Hockey

The Indian men's hockey team came back from a one-goal deficit to beat Japan 3-1 in their second Pool A match of the Junior Asia Cup in Oman. Arijit Singh Hundal (36th), Shardanand Tiwari (39th) and Uttam Singh (56th) scored the goals for India. At the same time, Kunpei Yasuda (19th) scored the goal for Japan. This second consecutive victory of India has also been named after it.

Indian players started applying pressure from the very first minute though Japan got the first breakthrough. No team could score in the first quarter. Yasuda also scored for Japan in the second quarter. After halftime, Japan initially played aggressively but India made a comeback and scored the equalizing goal.

After which India got consecutive penalty corners on which Shardanand gave the lead by scoring. In the last quarter, Uttam Singh converted the penalty and increased the lead to two more goals. India will face Pakistan on May 27 and Thailand on May 28.
