Pune: A junior ticket collector Upendrakumar Veer Bahadur Singh was arrested in Pune for raising pro-Pakistan slogans during an event to pay tribute to CRPF jawans who lost their lives in Pulwama terror attack. Singh has been booked under section 153(B) of IPC on charges of promoting enmity. He has been sent to police custody till February 18 and has also been suspended by the Indian Railways.

According to a report by Times of India, Singh (39) was arrested at Shivaji Chowk in Lonavala near Pune and was later referred to a medical expert to determine if he was under any mental agony. Meanwhile, the Central government passed a resolution after the end of the all-party meeting in New Delhi and strongly condemned the dastardly terror attack on February 14 at Pulwama in which lives of 40 brave jawans of CRPF were lost.

“We, along with our countrymen, stand with their families in this hour of grief. We condemn terrorism in all forms and the support being given to it from across the border,” the resolution read. India also withdrew the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to Pakistan at the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting in New Delhi yesterday. New Delhi had granted MFN status to Islamabad in 1996.
