India-Canada to ink key agreements on counterterrorism

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to hold bilateral talks with his Canadian counterpart Justin Trudeau in the national capital New Delhi on Friday. It is expected to many key agreements to be signed to boost India-Canada ties with a focus on counterterrorism.

Modi and Trudeau will exchange views on mass issues, including defence and security, counter-terror cooperation, trade and investment and tackling climate change.

India-Canada ties are also likely to thought-out on boosting cooperation in the civil nuclear division.

 As the two prime ministers finally meet at Hyderabad House in New Delhi at noon, something could still be recovered out of exaggerated muddle that Modi is not paying attention to Trudeau’s visit. And the India -Canada ties is far too significant to permit it to be reflected in the buildup to that bilateral summit. But it will take the shared attraction of Trudeau and Modi to bring to the fore the public conversation over the wreckage left by the adversity so far.
